Composing still lifes is akin to creating a moment in a world that is all your own, a mood, a sentence. Apart from being a way to compose a "complete work", I love still lifes for the play of light and shadow, nuance of colour, and subtle movement despite their "stillness" - they are some of my favourite decorative accents.
