Venice is one of the most magical and beautiful places, by wide consensus. Secretly, I was afraid it will disappoint me, but the moment we got out at Santa Lucia I knew it never could. Perfect in the rainy damp air of February that brings out its colours and decadent filigree gothic architecture, surreal in the week of Carnivale, and eerily mysterious and quiet by night, Venice is the stronghold of the romantics, of adventurers, of daredevils, of travellers, of fortune seekers, of poets, and of course, of lovers. A compact, saturated work of art, it hovers on the brink of extinction, and it is this light scent of death that makes it ever more lovelier.

These are favourite outtakes from the several albums I have on it (click on each image to see where it was taken from).
