Lake Ontario, January 2009.
The beach in the winter is a special type of scenery... It's a surreal place with its own kind of time-keeping, footprints in the snow instead of beach towels, with only the geese still bobbing on the water, as if they are moored to their spots year round. At the same time, it is saturated with a special sense of peace, a period of rest before the summer season and its tourists, joggers, sunscreen, and castles in the sand.
